Reaction Time — free online

Wait for green. Tap instantly. Your milliseconds, ranked against your pride. This is one of 32 tiny games on TinyPlay: every run ends with a score out of 1000, a grade, a shareable score card and a challenge link that dares a friend to beat you.

How to play

Open this page and the game starts in its own play page — no sign-up, no download, about 10 sec per run. Play once for a score, then use the challenge link on your result page to send that exact score to a friend.

How we measure

Timing starts the moment your finger or mouse button goes down, not when the click event fires after release. A tap within 100 ms of the signal is treated as a lucky guess, not a reaction — athletics uses the same line for false starts. The wait before the signal is random, so rhythm tapping does not work. Remember that a browser adds roughly 80 ms of delay nobody spent, and a touchscreen adds 35–140 ms more; compare scores on the same device. The average human visual reaction time is about 273 ms; under 250 ms is good and under 200 ms is excellent.

FAQ

Is Reaction Time free?
Yes. Every TinyPlay game is free, with no sign-up and no download. An optional free account only saves your points and leaderboard places.

What is a good score in Reaction Time?
Scores run 0–1000. 500+ is solid (top 43% tier), 700+ is sharp (top 20%), 850+ is elite (top 8%), and 950+ is legendary (top 2%). Tiers follow the score scale; they switch to the real player distribution once enough scores are collected.

How long does one game take?
About 10 sec. Getting a score takes under a minute; beating it is what eats the evening.

Can I challenge a friend?
Yes. Finish a run and your result page gives you a challenge link for this exact game, carrying your score. Whoever opens it plays the same game and the winner is decided on the spot — and every rematch deepens the challenge chain.
